I would say The Times They Are A-Chagin’ just about sums up the whole situation and atmosphere at the time of the peace movement. Blowin’ In The Wind, of course, is a close contender and was, in some ways, the anthem for the whole 60’s movement (Peace, Race, etc.). Against all expectations, Dylan didn’t do Woodstock in 1969. Instead he chose to do The Isle Of Wight! He did, however, appear at the 25th Anniversary festival at Woodstock in 1994. There’s some very good video footage available. Dylan was extremely influential. This cannot be overstated. Although he was, and always has been, reluctant to take on the mantle, he was without doubt the spokesman of his generation, and was there performing when Martin Luther King made his ‘I have a dream’ speech.
