Which Battlestar Galactica episodes are available on home video?
The pilot episode (“Saga of a Star World”) has remained in print in variant formats ever since its first release on laserdisc in 1980 and VHS in 1985. Based on the U.S. theatrical release of May 1979, it is 2h04m long, although the VHS box originally indicated it was 2h05m. This is its length on all VHS and Beta versions, and almost all laserdiscs, up to and including the standalone widescreen DVD of the pilot episode, which was released in 1999 (and rereleased in 2003.) In the pre-DVD era, several other episodes were previously available in North America on VHS [view G2]. Syndicated versions of the episodes (including an edited version of network version of the pilot episode) were released in Europe in 2000 on VHS as part of an eight-volume set. In 2003, Universal made all the episodes available uncut with the release of Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Epic Series, which consists of 6 DVDs. The first pressing featured a silver oversized box in the shape of a Cylon head. Disc 1 feat
