If you’d been keeping up with the financial news, you would know that CIBC is embroiled in the sub-prime debacle and suffered some of the largest losses among Canadian banks. TD is the stronger bank. Stop focusing on nickels and dimes (or loonies!) and investigate the bigger picture.

In my opinion all Canadian banks will write off large amounts of money. I personally bank with RBC and don’t know about CIBC or TD but prefer TD Bank.
