Which Band Played With Jimi Hendrix At Woodstock?
Although the audience mostly recognized that it was Hendrix on stage, waking up the mud-soaked and exhausted crowd on Monday morning for the festival’s final act with his “Star Spangled Banner” instrumental, the group performing with him was Gypsy Sun & Rainbows: Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell, Juma Sultan, and Jerry Velez. Cox also joined him later (New Year’s Eve 1969) with the Band of Gypsies.
