Laboratory studies conducted under EPA-approved protocols have proven copper’s ability to kill, within two hours of contact time, common disease-causing bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus , Enterobacter aerogenes , Escherichia coli O157:H7 (E. coli O157:H7), Pseudomonas aeruginosa and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus ( MRSA ). MRSA is sometimes referred to as a “superbug.
