Which axe would be better for splitting wood?

Those are two very different axes. What you get depends what you’re splitting. The smaller one would be okay for splitting small stuff, for doing kindling, for taking camping where the wood is supplied already partly split. All-metal has the advantage of being unbreakable so you won’t find yourself in the middle of nowhere with a broken axe handle, but you might find it too hard to use a lot. The larger one would be what you want if you’re splitting whole rounds of tree. And if you’re doing that, you should get a splitting maul and a metal wedge, they do a lot more work and will split things an axe won’t unless you have a lot of practice with an axe and lots of muscle. The fibreglass handle is good, transmits less pounding to your hands and arms than metal or even wood. I myself wouldn’t buy this stuff online unless I had seen it in person. Especially for the larger axe and a maul, you need to handle it to be sure it’s what you can handle easily. Just about any building supply place ha
