Which areas within the technology sector are more suited to be driven/ centred from an offshore location?
I am trying to figure out the areas in technology where the business can be driven primarily from an offshore location. Say, have a large chunk of the team (not all) outside US and still be able to be successful in running/ growing the business. It seems to me that an online business (like a domain name provider/ SaaS suite of consumer products) is suited more to say a niche infrastructure technology (middleware – say a bpm tool for utility vendors) which is better suited compared to a application (say a Healthcare IT suite focused on Hospitals). Can you provide your thoughts on this?
