Which are the 2 hottest SI Swimsuit issue covers?
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is probably the best selling issue they have all year round. It usually features fashion models wearing sexy swimwear in exotic locations. I shouldn’t even bother to describe it, we have ALL seen at least one and we ALL loved it. There is a small debate on which one was the first SI Swimsuit issue, history tells us that it was in 1964, were the tradition of ‘one every year’ issue started: But, in 1955 SI published the first issue with a cover featuring a woman, wearing a bathing suit, in an exotic locale: … Whatever, we are grateful either way. Historically, the issue that got the most letters (of complaint I may add) was the 1978 issue, which featured the infamous Cheryl Tiegs fishnet bathing suit (GASP! you can kind of see her nipples!): And the best selling issue was the 25th Anniversary Issue with Kathy Ireland on the cover in 1989: This brings us to here and now and the difficult decision to choose just 2 covers for this week’s ‘vs.’ section.
