I have heard of Matt Furey but I don’t know anything about what he does so I am afraid I can’t tell you anything about his program or what he does. I am assuming that when you say bodyweight exercises over weights I am guessing you mean using the resistance your own body offers. I’d answer that in 2 parts, 1) sure, you can get in good shape using your own body weight, 2) in our system of Kung-Fu we use quite a few weapons and I always tell people that think we don’t weight training that they should try doing a 100 plus move form with combat steel Kwan Dao, Darn Dao or any number of other weapons, it isn’t exactly the same but it is definitely a work out and lesson in handling weight.
