Which animal kills the most people in the world?
Deer (by causing car accidents) and mosquitoes and rats (by carrying diseases) kill the most people, but it is indirectly. I would say the animal that kills the most people directly each year is the snake. Millions of people are bitten each year, and thousands of these people die from the venom. Snakes can be found on all continents but Antarctica, and are often not noticed until it is to late. Hippos, although they do kill many people every year, are only found in Africa and can be more easily spotted an avoided. Hippos aren’t as vicious as their reputation claims, and if you avoid them they will pretty much leave you alone. Of course, the statistics are not exact; I’m sure many deaths due to all sorts of animals go unrecorded, so we can really only make our best guess as to which kills the most humans.
