Air conditioners aren’t purchased based on low, middle or high class standing in the area in which you reside, they are purchased based on the size and type of the home you live in. If you’re looking into whole house A/C, you should also look at whole house A/C and heatiing combined, like a heat pump. These units set outside, pump the cold air inside and make heated air in the colder times of the year. This is not the site you need to be on to get information on an A/C for your home, you should go to a STORE where they sell A/C and talk to one of the experts there.
This is a vague question but hope this helps. 1st depends on your location, what I mean by this is your typical use of central air, the warmer the climate the higher the SEER you will want to look at, SEER is the efficiency of the unit, so warmer the climate the more efficient unit you will want to look at. If operating cost is not going to be an issue then the min. you can purchase is going to be a 13 SEER unit, all units produced after Jan. 1st 2010 have the R-410a ref. in them, if you are looking for a decent unit then I would look at a Lennox brand which the model you would look at would be 13ACX-?? this is a base model which comes standard with a 5 yr. parts and compressor as long as you fill out the online warranty on this it will bump you upto a 10 yr parts and compressor.
