Which agencies are responsible for winter roads maintenance in Lancashire?
Lancashire County Council and the Highways Agency will: • Salt roads to help prevent ice forming and to treat snow and ice already formed • Remove snow using snow ploughs and snow blowers • Maintain salt supplies in local grit bins. The Highways Agency has the responsibility of treating the following national routes: M6, M61, M55, M65 (J1 to J10), M58, A56 (from M65 to M66) and A585 (from M55 to Fleetwood).
