Which adults are at the highest risk of Hepatitis B virus infection?
Hepatitis B virus infections in adults occurs among those who have the following risk factors : adults with more than one sex partner during the past six months; adult men who have sex with other men; adults who have or have ever had a sexually transmitted disease; sex partners and household contacts of persons who have chronic Hepatitis B infection; adults receiving hemodialysis; adults who received certain blood products; adults who inject illegal drugs; adult health care workers; adult public safety workers who are exposed to blood; adults who reside or are staff in institutes for the developmentally disabled; adults who are in jail; and certain international travelers.
