which 1080P LCD TV is best, Samsung, Sony or Sharp?
In general, the Sharp Aquos are said to have the better picture and response time. But there’s been a serious manufacturing problem with them that creates dark colored bands across the screen. If you happen to get one that isn’t defective, the Sharp’s are the best around right now, but it’s not worth the risk. Go for the Sony models. Now, Sony and Samsung actually use the exact same panel for their TVs, but Sony has a much better implementation. The result is better picture quality and more features, for example the ability to zoom inputs from HDMI, which Samsung can’t handle. Also contrast levels are better with the Sony models, and this will significantly enhance your perception of how good the picture is. This is the model I plan to buy in a couple of weeks or as soon as I see a price drop, which I expect in time for the Super Bowl.
