Ans The rates communicated in the tariff orders are per pair (2 wires) only. Exception: The local lead of 2 wires or 4 wires is dependent on the type of modems used by the customers and for the 64 kbps circuits normally the customers are using ASM 20 modems which work on 4 wires.Hence, it has been decided that normally 2 wires will be provided as local lead and if any customer is seeking 4 wires for local lead, on declaration that they are using the ASM 20 modems. In such cases, it has been decided that 4 wires local lead will be provided without multiplying by 2 of the normal rental.
