Whether I need to add mycotoxin binder if liver tonic is added in the feed?
A. Yes. This is because the role of mycotoxin binder and liver tonic is very different. Mycotoxin binder helps to control mycotoxin in feed and inside birds’ body. The quantity of mycotoxin thus reaching the liver is minimised. In case toxin binder is not added high amount of mycotoxin will reach liver that the liver cannot sustain. The liver tonics are majorly used to improve the liver functions to ensure better utilization of the feed nutrients. The other important functions of liver tonic are detoxification of the toxic substances reaching liver, synthesis of important factors and secretion of bile. It is clear that the functions of liver tonic and mycotoxin binder are not overlapping hence both are to be used.
