Do-Nothing Dave Weldon voted against $1.15 billion in grants to help local agencies hire more offices and prosecutors — especially important in the Orlando area, where police are battling a record high murder rate. Fortunately the grants passed the House 381-34, with Weldon being in the tiny minority of representatives to vote against common sense. Orlando police chief lauded the grants: “It’s absolutely great news for Orlando and every larger city in the United States… We are reverting back to something that clearly was successful in the past.
