Wheres the statute?
In the relatively recent past, someone has posted signs on Highway 95 advising motorists to turn on their headlights during daylight hours. There does not seem to be a statute requiring this use and it would seem to be an “advisory” set of signs alleged to increase safety. We have recently heard of sheriff’s deputies issuing citations for non-use of headlights during daylight hours, but I cannot find anything in the Nevada law library which requires daylight use of vehicle headlights. I do not agree with the government mandating use of headlights during daylight hours without a law requiring it. There is evidence that most accidents on Highway 95 are caused by fatigue and boredom; few would appear to involve head-on collisions that could be prevented by use of headlights in daylight.
