Where is the North County Times’ reporting of the Mike Duvall incident? A legislator who sits on the utilities committee resigns because an open mic catches him bragging about sexual antics with a Sempra lobbyist. The story is page one in the Los Angeles Times and a media sensation nationwide, yet it isn’t printed in our local paper. Two major energy decisions loom, yet the North County Times ignores this scandal although it directly impacts San Diego county. I don’t know which is worse: the debasement of the legislative process, or the silence of local journalists. No wonder newspapers are becoming irrelevant.
