On her way to Portugal Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 May, 2009 : – – Hi friends! Last month I headed to Australia for my first WQS event of the year. I went first to the Gold Coast and surfed Snapper Rock, visited friends, and did some training at CHEK Australia. Training was the highlight of my trip – learning to implement physical fitness and that leading into my surfing. Then I went to the contest in W.A. and lost in my first heat. I was super bummed. I hadn’t adapted properly to the wave conditions. But I had fun hanging out with Alana, Carissa & Monica and surfing with them! We stayed with a really sweet couple who took care of us and made us feel at home while we were far from it. An ethnic food I tried was Abalone. It’s taken out of the shell & cut into bite size pieces. It was actually yummy! Not chewy, like I had expected. It was fun trying it!
