I have photo’s which were taken many years ago aboard the ferry from Stranraer to Larne…bit of a walk into the town as far as I remember because it took us ages as my dad had gout at the time, so yes, there was definitely a ferry between Larne and Stranraer because we didn’t have to swim back!

Whereas it is currently Stranraer to Belfast, it used to be Stranraer to Larne. The proposal to close down Stranraer and for both operators to use Cairnryan floundered two months ago when they failed to agree terms for sharing the port.
