Where would the temporary weir be located?
If built, the temporary weir would be located near Pomanda Island below Wellington along the River Murray. The location of the weir is indicated on the map below. It would act as a barrier between Lake Alexandrina and the River Murray, raising the water level around the SA Water pumps, and prevent salty and potentially acidic water from the Lower Lakes flowing upstream and affecting South Australia’s drinking water supply.
