Where would one find programs for graduate study in the sexuality field?
There are not a lot of programs in human sexuality, per se. If you go to www.sexscience.org and look under “educational opportunities,” there is a listing of human sexuality graduate studies programs. Additionally, there are a lot of “queer studies” programs emerging recently at the graduate level (at least in Canada). These tend to be of an interdisciplinary nature. They may be more on the humanities side (e.g., a part of Women’s or Gender Studies programs) or more on the social sciences side (e.g., an off-shoot of Psychology or Sociology programs). For those who are interested in becoming a “sex therapist” – Maybe do a Masters in Psychology with a specialization in sex research in counselling psychology or clinical psychology. Community Psychology is also an excellent specialization for Sex Educators. You can also do graduate work in an interdisciplinary studies types of program (i.e., queer or human sexuality or family studies), that might help for one to become a sex therapist. Oth
