Where would one find an industry standard business budget template?
I have put together a detailed budget in excel and built some rather complex formulas to calculate future revenue expectations. I thought I did a great job but was brought back to reality when an advisor indicated that we needed to use an “industry standard” format,using the following line items: Revenues, Expenses, Staffing Costs, Cost of Sales, Operational Expenses, Operating Profit. In addition to a detailed budget, he suggested that we should create a balance sheet and full set of financial projections, including Gross Margins, EBIT, and EBITDA projections. He also suggested that based on those figures, it would be useful to do a discount cash flow analysis to gauge the value of the business as it grows. Now I have looked around the ‘net’ and haven’t been able to find any reasonable templates for this. I would appreciate if anyone could provide me a template for me to fit my data into or point me into the right direction to accomplish these tables. Thanks, Sam.
