Where will the wireless modem and antenna need to be installed in my home or office?
The ideal location for the equipment is at the highest point of the building on the side facing the nearest base transmission site, preferably next to an outside wall. The installation technician will select the best location to receive the signal. The system require household electrical current to operate and will need access to a wall plug for power. If an inside antenna is used, it needs to be located in an area that provides the maximum signal strength. These areas are typically near a window on the side closest to the base transmitter. The modem would need to be near the antenna. If an outside antenna is used, the antenna is attached to the exterior of the building at the highest, feasible point. Mounting under the eave of the building is a common spot. The modem would need to be located no greater than twenty-five feet from the antenna.
