The annual Wakefield Independence Day Parade, known as the largest of its kind in the state, will kick off this Saturday, July 4, at 5 p.m. at the corner of North Avenue and Quannapowitt Parkway, according to the Wakefield Independence Day Committee. The parade will be held rain or shine. Fireworks over Lake Quannapowitt will follow later that evening, weather permitting.
