A9. LPD 17 will be homeported in Norfolk, VA – the first of the LPD 17 class to be homeported on the East Coast. LPD 18 will be homeported in San Diego, CA, the first LPD 17 class ship to be homeported on the West Coast. LPD 19 will be homeported in Norfolk, VA – the second of the LPD 17 class to be homported on the East Coast. LPD 20 is expected to be homeported in San Diego, CA with follow own ships assigned per the needs of the Navy.
