Where will the proposed second entrance be located?
A. The proposed entrance would be at an existing highway median cut that is further from the busy Lake Shores Road intersection than the present treatment plant gate and closer to Diamond Springs Road. Q: Will the project eliminate off-site odors? A. HRSD expects this project to accomplish its goal of eliminating off-site odors. However, if odors are routinely detected upon completion of these improvements, HRSD will continue to pursue its odor-elimination goal through subsequent projects. Q. Will the improvement project increase the treatment plant’s capacity? A. No. The plant capacity will remain 24 million gallons per day. Q: Is the plant located on Little Creek Amphibious Base? A. No. The plant is located on property owned by HRSD adjacent to the base. Q. How have you notified the community of the project? A. HRSD held public meetings May 15, 2002, and September 10, 2003, to discuss the proposed improvements and solicit comments. Both meetings were advertised in The Virginian-Pilot
