Where will the people go from the Misbourne Ward and Chesham Hospital and who will pay?
Answer- Health will pay for intermediate care and then it is up to Social Services who are aware of the situation to provide nursing home places. There will be no A&E at the Health Centre. The GPs are working with the PCT on the development of the Berkhampstead Rd site. There has been no overview of the service. Decrease of over 100% in hospital beds. What will be done to justify the bed loss? Answer – regarding reduction in beds, with advent of intermediate care less demand on beds. Many people are occupying beds when they could be treated better in homes. Why can’t Chesham Hospital be kept going by donations? Answer- Misbourne Ward may be available for Chesham Hospital as they are for the whole of the area and not just for Chesham. If we are under funded nationally by 18% we should be asking our MP to take this up in the House of Commons. Is this a case for the National Health Ombudsman to investigate? Answer-If Government offered 18% more money it would be able to be invested wisely
