Where Will the Lame Duck 109th Congress Fly?
Where Will the Lame Duck 109th Congress Fly? Friday November 10, 2006 The 109th U.S. Congress will begin yet an other post-election “lame duck session” on Nov. 13, 2006, with many of its members knowing they will not have jobs in the 110th Congress when it convenes on January 3, 2007. As lame duck sessions go, this one begins under the worst possible scenario, as one of the two major political parties — Democratic — will take away majority control of both houses of Congress from the other party — Republican — on January 3. Despite the cloudy political atmosphere they will be flying through, the lame duck 109th Congress may consider some important legislation. Also See: About Lame Duck Sessions of Congress
