Where will the Games be held?
The 500 acre Olympic Park in Stratford lies at the heart of London’s plans for the 2012 Games. Within it, nine new venues will be situated within walking distance of one another, including an 80,000 seat Olympic Stadium, an Aquatics centre, a Hockey centre, a Velopark and four multi-sport arenas. Not all the events will take place in the Olympic Park however; Some of the other sites include Greenwich which will be hosting Equestrian events and the Modern Pentathlon, and existing world-class venues such as Wimbledon and Lord’s Cricket Ground.
