Where will the celebration for the College World Series Champion LSU Tigers be held?”
LSU fans started streaming into the new Alex Box Stadium at 2 p.m. today for the university’s celebration of the Tigers’ sixth College World Series national championship. At 3 p.m. there are still plenty of good seats available _ even under the overhang. It’s a good thing too. The temperature in Baton Rouge is 101 with a heat index of 104. Concession stands are open and souvenir hats and shirts are being sold. Last night’s game 3 with Texas, won by the Tigers 11-4 for the national championship, is being played on the scoreboard in left field. The players are scheduled to arrive at the Box at 3:30 p.m. for a private gathering in the clubhouse. The festivities are scheduled to start at 4 p.m. More good news, no rain is appearing on the radar right now. The dias has been placed right behind the pitcher’s mound. National Champions has been chalked in the infield with 91, 93, 96, 97, 00 and 09 underneath. Those numbers, of course, represent LSU’s six national championships.
