Where will I see the Corral Reefs?
You can see the coral reefs snorkeling off shore or on a scuba dive. The Turks & Caicos Islands are world famous for the 1,000 square miles of reef that surrounds us. You will find this magnificent barrier reef less than 500 yards off the beach at Hollywood Beach Suites, including coral formations before the main reef. The coral reef is a natural treasure that we are all responsible to preserve and help flourish. This reef also contributes to the calm, clear water close to shore. How extensive are the nature reserves and sanctuaries? There are extensive inviting nature reserves and sanctuaries to insure that the Island of North Caicos retains its delicate eco system. For example, Ramsar Site Sanctuary covers the south of the island, with marsh and wetlands and breeding sites for lobster, conch and fish.
