Where will a new stadium be located?
The Vikings have analyzed several sites both in and around Minneapolis. While the current Metrodome site offers the necessary infrastructure for a 65,000-seat stadium – roads, light rail, utilities – and is likely the most cost-efficient site, suburban sites offer more acreage, as well much-needed political and financial support. Recently the Vikings have stepped up conversations with Ramsey County regarding the former Twin Cities Army Ammunitions Plant (TCAAP) property. The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution in February that allows the County to work with the Vikings to complete the due diligence required to determine if a plan that works for all parties can be achieved on that site. Both the Vikings and Ramsey County are working hard on this potential plan.
