German military production had begun when the Nazi’s took power in the early 1930’s. They were using the factories Germany had, many in Silesia, Berlin and the Ruhr. Though they were spread all over Germany. When she started conquering other countries these too were used to produce arms for the Germans, places like Prague ect. Many French factories were also used to make weapons. Initially the Germans had a spurt in the time before the war started 1937-39 which gave them an advantage or parity in the numbers of tanks, guns and planes but as they were newer and better models the Germans had a qualitative advantage over their enemies. After around 1942 when the Germans realised that they were not going to win quickly, as they had thought, they started to develop more new weapons and tried to up production of all types of weapons. However they were not able by this time to match the output in the US, UK and USSR (even in 1941 the Soviets on their own outproduced the reich in tanks and air
