Where was the worlds largest volcanic eruption?
One of the biggest recorded volcanic eruption happened in Thera (today Santorini) in 1500 – 1400 BC. The eruption gave the island is present shape by blowing up large part of it, according to the stories the smoke was seen also in Athens. There was also eruption of toxic gas from a volcanic mountain in a French island colony that killed the entire population except one prisoner.
