Where Was The Garden Of Eden Located?
Genesis 2:10-14 speaks of four rivers of Eden–the Pishon, the Gihon, the Hiddekel, and the Euphrates. If the Word of God is inerrant, then there were four, real rivers which existed before Noah’s flood. It is thought the now-dry Wadi al Batin was probably the Pishon River. The Gihon was probably the Karun River, and the Hiddekel was the Tigris and Euphrates River is still known by that name. None of them flow in the same place the Bible suggests. This could be due to changes in topography. Another theory is that the rivers flowed in and around the Garden of Eden and came together as one river emanating out of the Garden. Two other theories have the Garden in eastern Turkey at the foot of a mountain range. (Sander’s Theory). Yet another has the Garden in what is now the Persian Gulf. So any exact location would be merely a guess.
