The first battle of the American Civil War was fought at Fort Sumter between the Union and Confederate armies. Fort Sumter was located in the Charleston Harbor, which was situated in the state of South Carolina. The reason for the fight was the conflict of land of the Fort Sumter between the Union and the Confederate States of America.
