Where was Rachel Parker going before her car crashed, leading to her death?”
An 18-year-old Westmoreland County woman en route to work died Wednesday in a head-on crash from which she was ejected — three weeks after the death of her mother and her own high school graduation. Rachel Parker, 18, of New Alexandria, was thrown from her vehicle after a collision with another car at about 4:50 p.m. on Route 119 in the New Alexandria section of Salem Township, emergency officials said. Both vehicles sustained severe damage, and one car was forced into a guardrail. Paramedics immediately started cardiopulmonary resuscitation and called a medical helicopter to the scene, which was canceled because officials sought to get Parker to an area hospital as quickly as possible. Forbes Road Fire Chief Robert Rosatti told WTAE Channel 4 Action News that Parker recently graduated from Greensburg-Salem High School, and that she crashed along a notoriously bad curve. Rosatti said crews found Parker’s diploma and straight-A report card in the back seat of her car. Slideshow: Rachel
