Where was Johnny Cashs “Gods Gonna Cut You Down” shot?
Manhattan, New York (Trinity Church) Amy Lee made a brief guest appearance in the music video for Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” in late 2006. As each celebrity featured in the shoot was allowed to choose what they would be doing for the video, Lee chose to appear laying flowers on a grave. Her scene was recorded at Trinity Church in Manhattan, during which she wore a black velvet coat that previously belonged to Tim Burton. “It was a shoot for the new Johnny Cash video,” Amy explains. “The concept is all these celebrities Justin Timberlake, Tony Hawk, P. Diddy dressed in black like Johnny Cash. You know, expressing the pain of the world. They said I could do whatever I wanted, so I said, ‘Why don’t I go to a cemetery and lay some flowers on a grave?’ We shot it at Trinity Church,” she says, referring to the soaring neo-Gothic cathedral three blocks from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. “It was really creepy”.
