Where to get married abroad?
Inexpensive is not your only criteria you need to look at. We got married on the island of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. The weather there is perfect all year round. It was a beautiful wedding, and was very inexpensive. Under 200.00? They offer a formal setting or a beach wedding. The island isn’t touristy, it is very laid back. I didn’t want to go to an island and be treated like we are in Vegas or at a spa, I wanted to feel like a normal human being. It is a Dutch colony and a common Duch tourist spot. English is spoken by most. As with all weddings abroad: The issue we encountered was meeting all of their requirements. We had to request the wedding in writing two months in advance. We had to stay for two weeks. Before leaving the US, we had to first have our documents notarised, then go to the secretary of State in each state where each document was issued to have our documents “Apostilled” so they would be accepted there.
