Where to get free polystyrene?
You don’t say whether you want “expaned” polystyrene foam or “extuded” polystrene *foam* (I presume you do want foam though, right?). The expanded type is often used as packing material, so for free stuff you could go to places where larger items are received (stores, etc.) and ask for pieces. Many of those stores will place their empty boxes & packing materials behind the store too as garbage or recycling, so you could check out some of those places (discreetly, or even after the store closes). The extruded type is usually used for “insulation” of various kinds, so if you want it for free you may be able to find or ask for extras at a construction site if they’re at the right phase of construction. Otherwise (at least in the U.S.) you can *buy* both of those at hardware or home improvement type stores for not too much, or the expanded type at craft or hobby stores or in mail-packaging stores.
