Where to find some hay for cows and horses close or simiclose to conroe tx?
The best quality hay I’ve ever found for my horses was in Huffman, out east of Humble. It’s at a feed store called Chacherie’s (pronounced sasherie). They own several hundred acres around the feed store and grow it themselves to keep the prices reasonable. They bale it in the usual sized small bales but I don’t know the prices of it anymore. I moved out of Texas 5 years ago and, where I live now, hardly anybody bales hay that small. The hay here is usually in round bales, or giant square bales that only a tractor could pick up. A LOT of the feed stores in the areas around you get their hay from Chacherie’s and sell it retail to you. Try giving them a call and ask them if you buy it out of the field (I don’t think they do this but it wouldn’t hurt to ask), or ask them if they give discounts if you buy it by the trailer-load.
