Where to find donations/help for a stray cats and dogs shelter?
Romania has a huge unsolved problem regarding stray cats and (especially) dogs. Just this morning one of my colleagues got bitten by a stray dog on a normal street in the middle of the city (Bucharest). Very few foundations and shelters deal with the problem (authorities have buried their head in the sand). However, it just came to my attention, via a journalist, that a 65 years old woman from a village nearby Bucharest is housing around 60 dogs and 80 cats. The woman is retired and now got ill and cannot find means to feed and treat the animals. The only support she is getting now is some dog food from Bridget Bardot’s foundation. She did not manage to take the animals to be vaccinated lately. Her foundation, Pro Dog, is about to be closed down, because of lack of resources. Therefore, any idea on where to turn for help and what might work is greatly appreciated…I will pass the info on to the woman.
