I think in LA buying fireworks and poping them in LA City is illegal and you could end up getting a fine. I live in Compton and there is numerous of legal stands all over the city. Here in Compton the only illegal fireworks are those that are not approve my the fire marshall or a state organization. I forgot the name of the department. Like the one that pop in the air. However, if you come to Compton on a 4 of July you would see a spectular show of illegal fireworks all night from 9pm to 1 or 2 am. But be very carefull. The only parts of LA City that I have seen people poping illegal fireworks in Watts and in Willowbrook.
