Where to buy discounted/cheap tickets to Broadway/offBroadway shows?
The TKTS booths are the only way to get legitimate discounted tickets. Don’t buy them from the guys trying to sell them on the street corners or right outside the theater! There are three TKTS booths, though, not only the one in Times Square–the other ones aren’t always quite as crowded, so you could try those out. The Southstreet Seaport booth (corner of Front st and John st) sells evening performance tickets day-of, and matinee tickets the day before a show. The Downtown Brooklyn booth is at the corner of Jay st and Myrtle ave. It sells same-day evening and next-day matinee, just like the Southstreet booth. It also sometimes has tickets to other performances in Brooklyn.
