Where there slaves in ancient india?
India has never had slavery in literal terms. However slavery was abolished by Indian law maker King Manu, but established caste system in which people from lower caste held little place in community and were forced to work as slaves by the people from higher caste. This tradition is still alive in India in some places despite laws being made for equal rights.
