Where the vikings so vicious?
It is difficult to know how vicious the Vikings were because they were pagans, and accounts of them were written by their Christian victims. Also, the Vikings were fewer in number than the people they attacked, and they depended on terror to make their attacks successful. Some of the Viking viciousness may be exaggerated, but they were certainly a dangerous people to be feared.
