“Vapor lock” is a misnomer! Actually what is wrong is that fuel has heated up to point that it turns to vapor, and fuel pump is designed to pump liquid not vapor! — You also get same effect sometimes when the fuel pump is going bad! However once engine and engine compartement has cooled down, it should pump fuel again, and engine will run ok till it gets “hot” again! Get yourself a “bucket of icewater”,— when car stops running, get a cup or large glass and pour water on fuel pump (if bolted on side of engine)– fuel pump in tank shoud be running “under-water” so to speak, so gas cools it! Also try it to cool fuel lines in and aroud engine and engine compartment! I it uses a carb, or “chamber type” injection system, – you might try cold water on that too, as it could “hang up” possibly- when it is getting hot (metal expands when hot)!! Try to make fuel lines “insulated” from heat if possible, with heat deflecters, – or :”air scoops” directing cool air over them! By the way where is y

There is no such thing as a vapor lock. Vapor lock is caused when fuel in the lines is heated and turns to vapor. This causes the fuel to cease to flow and the engine to stall. It is normally caused when the fuel lines are routed next to a heat source such as the exhaust.
