Where the Olympics originated from?
The modern olympics started in 1896 and were in Greece. There were ancient olympics before this though going back prior to 600BC. I’m not sure how where the idea came from. The first torch relay was in 1936 at Berlin. It was these games that were the first to be telecast on tv. The games used to include non sport event like art competitions in architecture, literature, painting, sculpting and music. In 776BC there was only 1 event beign the equivalent of the 200 Metres run now. There were no team sports in the ancient olympic games. Females did not participate until the 1900 Paris games. The youngest person to win a medal was 10.
